Senior Software Engineer - Software Development

• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into clear, effective, scalable, and secure technical solutions.

• Lead the technical design and implementation of complex software solutions, applications, APIs, services, and integrations.

• Contribute to and, where assigned, own application architecture, component design, integration patterns, technical standards, and solution design decisions.

• Analyze existing applications and systems to identify opportunities for modernization, optimization, performance improvement, scalability, maintainability, and technical debt reduction.

• Develop, enhance, and maintain production-grade software applications following SDLC, coding standards, engineering methodologies, and organizational best practices.

• Lead or facilitate technical design reviews, code reviews, and implementation reviews to ensure quality, maintainability, security, and adherence to approved standards.

• Break complex requirements into technical deliverables, provide development estimates, identify dependencies and technical risks, and support delivery planning.

• Develop and integrate APIs, microservices, and enterprise systems while ensuring interoperability, reliability, security, scalability, and data consistency.

• Drive resolution of complex software defects and production incidents through structured root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures.

• Provide Level 3 operational support and act as a technical point of contact for assigned applications, services, and integrations.

• Analyze application performance, logs, metrics, database behavior, and production trends to identify and resolve reliability, scalability, and performance issues.

• Drive improvements in application observability, monitoring, alerting, error handling, resilience, and availability.

• Lead or support CI/CD, deployment automation, release management, rollback, and post-release validation activities to improve deployment quality and reduce operational risk.

• Ensure secure software development practices are implemented and identified vulnerabilities, security findings, audit observations, and compliance requirements are addressed within agreed timelines.

• Ensure transactional applications follow appropriate practices for transaction integrity, idempotency, error handling, auditability, reconciliation, data protection, and service availability.

• Conduct research and development (R&D) on emerging technologies, software frameworks, engineering tools, and industry best practices and assess their applicability to organizational needs.

• Identify and drive technical debt reduction, reusable components, engineering automation, modernization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Mentor Software Engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, design reviews, knowledge sharing, problem solving, and development of engineering capabilities.

• Maintain and review technical documentation, architecture diagrams, API specifications, design documents, operational procedures, and other approved development artifacts.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product/project teams, QA, security, infrastructure, operations, and other technical teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.

• Support Agile development practices including backlog refinement, sprint planning, estimation, technical discussions, retrospectives, and delivery tracking.

Skill Requirement:Strong hands-on experience in backend development using Java and frameworks such as Spring and/or Micronaut.Strong experience in frontend development using React for web applications and Flutter for mobile applications.Strong knowledge of database design, data modeling, SQL, query optimization, and database performance troubleshooting.Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, API integration, authentication, authorization, resilience, and secure API design.Strong understanding of application security, secure coding, data protection, encryption, vulnerability remediation, and security-by-design principles.Experience with software architecture, design patterns, integration patterns, scalability, high availability, and maintainable application design.Strong knowledge of Git, branching strategies, pull requests, code review, and collaborative software development practices.Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, automated testing, deployment automation, and release management.Experience with application monitoring, logging, observability, metrics, alerting, incident troubleshooting, and production support.Strong understanding of software testing strategies, including unit, integration, regression, API, performance, and reliability testing.Ability to perform technical analysis, estimate development effort, assess technical risks, identify dependencies, and propose practical solutions.Ability to diagnose complex production and architectural problems and conduct structured root-cause analysis.Ability to review code and technical designs and provide constructive technical guidance to other engineers.Ability to mentor engineers and promote engineering standards, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.Strong communication, stakeholder management, collaboration, and technical documentation skills.Ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions, and take ownership of assigned systems or technical deliverables.Ability to evaluate emerging technologies and determine their practical applicability to organizational requirements.Understanding of financial technology or transaction-processing environments, including transaction integrity, idempotency, reconciliation, auditability, data protection, and high availability, is preferred.Experienced Required:At least 3 years of relevant software development experience, with demonstrated experience delivering production-grade software solutions.Additional Requirements:Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Effective communication and collaboration abilities.Adaptability to changing project requirements and priorities.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Eagerness to learn and stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices.
