Asst. Officer / Officer-Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)

1. Ensure & implement the EHS culture and introduce AKIJ EHS norms.

2. Monitoring Site Safety activities and Ensure Safe Workplace Accordingly.

3. Implement daily toolbox meetings and EHS (safety) training.

4. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly EHS reports.

5. Assess Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA) and implement them at the site and also train employees.

6. Analyze Accident/Incident Investigation Report.

7. Prepare risk assessment of area-wise and implement mitigation plan along with the concerned department.

8. Evaluate and identify risk and hazard areas in the factory and mark with warning and danger signs.

9. Ensure proper MSDS safety at the workplace and train people accordingly.

10. Ensure and implement permit to work (PTW) system as well to prevent all kinds of accident/incident-related events.

11. Increase regular awareness/training on risk assessment mitigation.

12. Conduct fire & emergency mock drill session Inspect & update all firefighting arrangements regularly.

13. Communicate with the department in charge/shift in charge for implementing the EHS culture and make sure safer work station.

14. Review all EHS-related Documents for ensuring different types of audits.

15. Ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and guide all employees about EHS.

16. Maintain fire extinguishers daily, weekly, and monthly as well as install new firefighting arrangements.

17. Implement EHS norms with the sub-contractor’s safety from time to time regarding safety matters.

18. Arrange and conduct Firefighter, Rescue, first aid training program.

19. Perform other related duties as assigned by line manager/in-charge.

Professional Training/Certification:NEBOSH (IGC) and/or IOSH Managing Safely certification is highly preferred.BFSCD (Bangladesh Fire Service & Civil Defence) certified training.Training in HIRA, JSA, PTW, Incident Investigation, First Aid, Fire Safety, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, MSDS, LOTO, Confined Space Entry, or other relevant EHS disciplines will be given preference.
