Job Context:

Meghna Re-Rolling and Steel Mills Limited (MRSML), a concern of Meghna Group of Industries, is establishing a top-notch steel factory in Bangladesh with the latest European technologies and machinery, having an annual production capacity of 1.5 million MT. The vision of this concern is to produce world-class re-rolling products and billets to meet the growing demand in the local market and to contribute significantly to economic growth through exports around the globe. To achieve this goal, we are seeking dynamic, self-motivated, and technically sound Assistant Engineers. The selected candidates will be responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of mechanical and electrical systems by following standard operating procedures and engineering practices to ensure smooth plant operation, minimum downtime, and maximum productivity.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise installation, erection, and alignment of Rolling Mill stands, reheating furnace equipment, CCM (Continuous Casting Machine)/SMS machinery by following OEM manuals and engineering drawings to ensure accurate setup and smooth operation.
  • Perform preventive maintenance of critical mechanical components such as gearboxes, bearings, rollers, pumps, conveyors, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems through structured inspection schedules to reduce unexpected failures.
  • Attend mechanical breakdowns in Rolling Mill/ SMS Plant by identifying root causes, repairing/replacing faulty components, and coordinating with maintenance teams to minimize production loss.
  • Maintain equipment history and maintenance records including breakdown analysis, spare parts usage, and repair logs to improve reliability and maintenance planning.
  • Monitor and manage critical spare parts inventory by analyzing consumption trends and ensuring timely procurement to avoid operational delays.
  • Supervise technicians and contractors by assigning tasks, ensuring work quality, and enforcing safety compliance (PPE) to maintain efficient and safe working conditions.
  • Support continuous improvement by analyzing equipment performance, vibration issues, and mechanical efficiency to enhance productivity in SMS/ Rolling operations.
  • Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of transformers, switchgear, MCC panels, PLC systems, VFD drives, motors, and automation systems in SMS/Rolling Mill by following electrical drawings and standards.
  • Ensure continuous and stable power supply by monitoring voltage levels, load distribution, protection systems, and breaker performance to prevent production interruptions.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and automation faults in motors, drives, sensors, PLC systems, and control circuits using diagnostic tools (multimeter, clamp meter, megger, PLC software) for quick restoration.
  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance of electrical systems including insulation testing, thermal scanning, and connection checks to reduce equipment failure risks.
  • Maintain electrical logs, breakdown records, and ISO documentation by recording faults, corrective actions, and maintenance activities for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Ensure electrical safety practices such as proper earthing, lockout-tagout (LOTO), cable management, and protection device functionality to prevent hazards.
  • Support energy efficiency and cost optimization initiatives by monitoring power consumption, motor performance, and drive efficiency across SMS and Rolling Mill operations.

Job Requirements

Fresh graduates in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering are highly encouraged to apply.Familiarity with PLC, VFD, motors, and basic automation systems to support troubleshooting and learning on the job.Ability to read engineering drawings and technical manuals to assist in installation and maintenance work.Willingness to work in rotating shifts and industrial plant environment to support continuous production.Strong learning attitude, self-motivation, and adaptability to handle real-time industrial challenges.Good analytical and problem-solving skills to identify faults and support senior engineers.Basic knowledge of industrial safety, PPE, and standard operating procedures to ensure safe working practices.Good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate effectively with technicians and other departments.
