Head of Collection – Retail, Cards & Small Business Loan

Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB) is seeking an experienced and accomplished banking professional for the position of Head of Collection – Retail, Cards & Small Business Loan.

The role will be responsible for providing strategic leadership over Collection and Recovery activities across Retail, Credit Card and Small Business Loan portfolios, minimizing credit losses, maximizing collection productivity, and developing effective collection strategies and processes to achieve business objectives and targets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Efficiently manage the Collection and Recovery teams to minimize credit losses, maximize productivity, review and improve procedures and processes, formulate appropriate and timely collection strategies to achieve business objectives and targets, while deciding necessary strategic directions and developing appropriate collection policies to achieve aspirational targets.

2. Monitor delinquency levels, trends, flow rates and portfolio balances through appropriate MIS and collection analytics, and take measures and decisions to improve collections.

3. Maintain a continuous and interactive relationship with Branch Managers, Direct Sales Teams and Relationship Managers regarding collection matters and provide guidance where required.

4. Establish and oversee an effective Early Warning System (EWS) and lead bucket-wise delinquency monitoring, developing timely corrective action plans to proactively manage delinquency and improve collection performance.

5. Coordinate with Business, Credit, Legal, and Recovery teams to ensure timely resolution of delinquent accounts and effective management of collection and recovery activities.

6. Drive continuous improvement in collection and recovery processes, policies, MIS, and monitoring practices, ensuring alignment with risk management practices, regulatory requirements, and collection targets.

Strong understanding of Retail, Credit Card and Small Business Loan collection, delinquency, NPL management, risk management practices, and regulatory requirements.Strong leadership, analytical, stakeholder management, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret collection MIS and portfolio trends.Proven ability to develop and implement effective collection strategies, improve collection performance, and lead teams against defined business and collection targets.
