Job Description

Agriculture Banking Strategy & Business Development

Implement various agricultural credit policies and programs of different regulatory bodies to ensure adequate flow of funds to the agricultural and rural economy in a proper, timely and hassle-free way for the benefit of the farmers.
Design, plan and formulate strategies to reach business goals of agricultural financing. Increase agricultural productivity and ensure the food security of the people by financing agricultural loans.
Promote sustainable and equitable Agri/Rural development through effective credit support to the ultimate beneficiaries through its rural branches as well as Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs) linkages.
Expand the Bank’s agricultural lending portfolio in line with market potential, risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
Set business and disbursement targets for agriculture banking products, branches and relevant business units.
Monitor achievement against approved targets and take corrective measures where necessary.
Credit & Risk Management

Ensure prudent assessment, approval and monitoring of agricultural credit proposals within delegated authority and approved credit policies.
Establish appropriate risk assessment approaches considering the seasonal, geographic and climate-related characteristics of agricultural lending.
Monitor portfolio quality, overdue loans, classified loans, provisioning, recovery and concentration risks.
Take proactive measures to minimize delinquency, default and credit losses.

Regulatory Compliance

Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures and regulatory requirements per authority.
Ensure compliance with Bangladesh Bank guidelines, agricultural and rural credit policies, circulars and applicable regulatory requirements.
Ensure timely submission of regulatory returns and reports relating to agriculture and rural finance.
Maintain proper documentation, audit trails and internal controls for the Agriculture Banking portfolio.

Team Leadership & Governance

Lead, motivate, and continuously develop a credible high performing Agricultural & Rural Finance Team, and ensure effective coordination with the branches and divisions to increase Agri/rural client base.
Ensure effective coordination with Credit, Risk Management, Finance, Treasury, Operations, Digital Banking, Compliance and Branch Banking.
Maintain effective liaison with all relevant business units of the Bank.
