Job Description

Project Brief: The Medhabikash Scholarship Programme, a BRAC-funded initiative, and the Cultural & Sports Olympiad, a flagship initiative of the BRAC Education Programme, work together to create equitable opportunities for young people by supporting academically talented students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue higher education and enabling adolescents to develop creativity, confidence, leadership, teamwork, discipline, physical well-being, and social responsibility through cultural, sports, and co-curricular engagement. Through these initiatives, BRAC seeks to empower young people to realize their potential and become capable, responsible, and future-ready citizens who can contribute meaningfully to the development of Bangladesh.

Job Purpose:This position is responsible for providing strategic leadership, operational oversight, and quality assurance for the effective implementation of the Medha Bikash Scholarship initiative, Future Ready Club, and Cultural & Sports Olympiad across assigned divisions. It is a contractual position, where the individual will be responsible for ensuring timely and high-quality project delivery, strengthening team performance, fostering stakeholder engagement, ensuring compliance with organizational and donor requirements, and driving the achievement of project outcomes through evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead divisional planning, implementation, monitoring, and performance management to ensure quality, efficiency, and timely delivery of project activities.
  • Supervise, mentor, coach, and evaluate Area Coordinators and other divisional staff, building their technical and managerial capacity to achieve project targets.
  • Ensure transparent and quality implementation of scholarship selection, verification, payment, financial reconciliation, monitoring, documentation, and reporting through regular field supervision.
  • Review project performance, MIS, monitoring data, and dashboards by analyzing trends and recommend corrective actions for continuous project improvement.
  • Strengthen partnerships and maintain effective collaboration with educational institutions, government authorities, development partners, local administration, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic oversight for Future Ready Club, Cultural & Sports Olympiad, leadership development, mentoring, life skills, digital literacy, and youth engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with BRAC policies, donor requirements, financial procedures, procurement guidelines, audit recommendations, safeguarding standards, and applicable government regulations.
  • Identify project risks, develop mitigation measures, and ensure accountability, transparency, fraud prevention, and effective internal controls.
  • Prepare high-quality divisional reports, management updates, donor reports, and project analyses to support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Promote innovation, learning, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement to enhance project quality and operational efficiency.

Safeguarding responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
  • Practice, promote, and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

Job Requirements

Age At least 24 years Experience requirements:Minimum 5-7 years of professional experience in education, youth development, scholarship management, or development programmes.Proven experience in programme management, stakeholder engagement, monitoring, budgeting, and team leadership.Additional Requirements:Strong knowledge of Bangladesh’s education sector, including education policies, scholarship programme management, adolescent development, youth engagement, safeguarding, and child protection.Sound understanding of co-curricular education, leadership development, and approaches that promote student wellbeing and holistic development.Demonstrate expertise in project planning and implementation, budget management, monitoring, and effective resource utilization.Strong analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills with the ability to solve complex problems and drive results.Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and adaptability skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams and build effective partnerships.
