Aligning with national policies and UN SDGs, the program promotes deep inclusivity, even adapting to 100% online training during the COVID-19 pandemic. To date, SDP has empowered over 428,000 marginalized individuals—including women, disabled, and transgender people. With a high job placement rate, the program has proven to be a transformative socio-economic force, successfully reducing child marriage, boosting household incomes, and supporting a prosperous future for Bangladesh.

Sr. Instructor, Plumbing & Pipe Fitting will responsible for delivering classroom and practical training in Plumbing Pipe Fitting (PPF) under the National Technical and Vocational Qualifications Framework (NTVQF) Level 2 curriculum, enabling trainees to develop industry-relevant competencies in plumbing installation, maintenance, water supply and drainage systems while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and workmanship.

Major Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom and practical training in Plumbing Pipe Fitting (PPF) following the Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBT&A) standard and National Skills Development Authority (NSDA)-approved National Technical and Vocational Qualifications Framework (NTVQF) Level 2 curriculum.

• Demonstrate plumbing installation, maintenance, testing, repair, and commissioning of water supply, drainage, and sanitation systems.

• Train participants on plumbing drawings, pipe cutting, threading, bending, joining, fitting, sanitary fixtures, valves, pumps, and different piping systems.

• Develop trainees’ practical skills in using Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC), Polypropylene Random Copolymer (PPR), Galvanized Iron (GI), High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), and other commonly used plumbing materials and systems.

• Prepare trainees for National Skills Development Authority (NSDA) and Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework (BNQF) competency assessments through practical exercises, mock assessments, and regular competency evaluations.

• Ensure safe and proper use of plumbing tools, equipment, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and workplace safety procedures during all practical sessions.

• Monitor trainee attendance, learning progress, practical performance, and competency, and provide coaching and feedback when needed.

• Prepare lesson plans, job sheets, assessment materials, training reports, and other required documents, while maintaining workshop tools, equipment, and training records.

Safeguarding Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

• Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action. 

• Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

Educational Requirements

Diploma or BSc in Civil from any reputed institute.

Experience Requirements

2-3 years of working experience as an instructor in Plumbing Pipe Fitting or a related plumbing/construction sector.

Additional Job Requirements

• Good knowledge of plumbing systems, pipe fitting, water supply, drainage, safety, and technical training.

• Good technical, communication, coaching, practical training, and assessment skills.

• Responsible, safety-conscious, and committed to providing quality training and supporting trainees.
