Job Summary

The Senior ICT Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering high-quality, Cambridge/Edexcel-aligned Information and Communication Technology (ICT) lessons to students at the secondary and A-Level stages. The role requires an experienced, subject-specialist educator who can develop students' digital literacy, computational thinking, and applied ICT skills, drive strong examination outcomes, mentor junior colleagues, and contribute to curriculum design and the school's broader digital learning environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, Cambridge/Edexcel-aligned ICT lessons for secondary and A-Level students, covering digital literacy, data management, programming concepts, networking, cybersecurity, systems analysis, and related topics.
  • Develop students' computational thinking, problem-solving, software application skills, and understanding of ICT systems and their real-world applications.
  • Design and supervise practical computer-based tasks, projects, and coursework assignments in accordance with the Cambridge/Edexcel practical and portfolio assessment requirements.
  • Set and mark assessments regularly, providing constructive and individualised feedback to support student progress and attainment.
  • Prepare students thoroughly for Cambridge IGCSE ICT/Computer Science and AS/A-Level ICT examinations through structured revision, past paper practice, and exam technique coaching.
  • Contribute to the review and development of the ICT curriculum, schemes of work, practical task resources, and assessment materials.
  • Mentor and support junior ICT teachers in lesson planning, pedagogical practice, and classroom and lab management.
  • Assist the Head of Department in coordinating departmental activities, managing computer lab resources, and supporting the school's digital learning initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate student attendance records and all required academic documentation, and communicate student progress professionally with parents and staff.
  • Uphold all school policies on safeguarding, child protection, e-safety, responsible ICT use, and professional conduct at all times.
  • Perform any other responsibilities reasonably assigned by management in support of the institution's academic mission.

Job Requirements

Age At least 25 yearsOnly Male Strong command of spoken and written English.Minimum 6 years of proven experience teaching ICT or Computer Science at the secondary or A-Level stage within a Cambridge or Edexcel-affiliated institution.Demonstrated track record of strong student outcomes in Cambridge/Edexcel IGCSE ICT/Computer Science and A-Level ICT examinations.Practical proficiency in relevant software applications, programming environments, and digital tools used in teaching and assessment.Demonstrated experience in managing computer laboratories, overseeing student e-safety, and implementing responsible ICT use policies.Prior experience in curriculum development, academic mentoring, or departmental coordination is a significant advantage.Deep subject-matter expertise across the Cambridge/Edexcel ICT curriculum with the ability to make technical concepts engaging and relevant.Strong classroom and lab management skills, student engagement ability, and a passion for digital education and innovation.Effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues; up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and digital teaching practices is an advantage.
