Job Summary
The Senior Mathematics Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering high-quality, Cambridge/Edexcel-aligned Mathematics lessons to students at the secondary and A-Level stages. The role requires an experienced, subject-specialist educator who can build strong mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and analytical skills, achieve excellent examination results, mentor junior colleagues, and lead curriculum and assessment development within the department.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, Cambridge/Edexcel-aligned Mathematics lessons for secondary and A-Level students, covering Pure Mathematics, Statistics, Mechanics, and further topics as required.
Develop students` mathematical reasoning, problem-solving ability, logical thinking, and application of concepts across all topic areas.
Set and mark assessments regularly, providing constructive and individualised feedback to track and drive student progress.
Prepare students thoroughly for Cambridge IGCSE, AS, and A-Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics examinations through structured revision, past paper practice, and exam technique coaching.
Contribute to the development and review of the mathematics curriculum, schemes of work, and assessment materials.
Mentor and support junior Mathematics teachers in lesson planning, teaching methodology, and classroom management.
Assist the Head of Department in coordinating departmental activities, resources, and academic initiatives.
Maintain accurate student attendance records and all required academic documentation, and communicate student progress professionally with parents and staff.
Uphold all school policies on safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, and professional conduct at all times.
Perform any other responsibilities reasonably assigned by management in support of the school`s academic mission.
Age At least 25 yearsOnly Male Strong command of spoken and written English.Minimum 6 years of proven experience teaching Mathematics at the secondary or A-Level stage within a Cambridge or Edexcel-affiliated institution.Demonstrated track record of strong student outcomes in Cambridge/Edexcel IGCSE, AS, and A-Level Mathematics and/or Further Mathematics examinations.Prior experience in curriculum development, academic mentoring, or departmental coordination is a significant advantage.Deep subject-matter expertise across the Cambridge/Edexcel Mathematics curriculum with the ability to make abstract concepts clear and accessible.Strong classroom management, analytical thinking, and differentiated instruction skills.Effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues; familiarity with mathematical software and digital teaching tools is an advantage.
