Project Context: Friends in Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB) is going to implement the Gender-sensitive Humanitarian Assistance in WASH and Protection for the Rohingya Refugee and Host Communities in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar and Bhasan Char supported by Welthungerhilfe (WHH) and German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO)
The project period is from 01 September 2024 to 31st July-2026 (Possible to Extension) till July-2027, and it deliberately follows the HDP (Humanitarian, Development, Peace) Nexus approach to address the complex needs of both Rohingya and host communities. The project is centered on Community based organization (CBO) strengthening, social cohesion, resilience, gender-responsive development, and the promotion of human rights. By empowering CBOs, the project aims to contribute to improved access to critically needed WASH and humanitarian protection services for Rohingya Refugees and vulnerable Host Communities in Cox’s Bazar and Bhasan Char.
The Community Protection Facilitator Supervisor comes from local communities and is an important link between project activities, Work with local CBOs, and the wider community. The community-based work model follows the guidelines of the cross-sector coordination group, which promotes the involvement of local volunteers to ensure community ownership and the sustainability of humanitarian actions. The Community Protection Facilitator Supervisor is essentially qualified volunteer will be trained by the project.
Key Responsibilities: The Community Protection Facilitator Supervisor trained by the project will play a key role in:
The Community Protection Facilitator Supervisor (CPFs) will conduct sessions on different protection modules to raise awareness and build sensitivity on protection issues among both Rohingya and host communities. They will also encourage CBOs groups to act as resource people on protection matters.
The Community Protection Facilitator Supervisor (CPFs) will motivate CBOs groups to share the knowledge gained from protection sessions with their neighbors and other members of both Rohingya and host communities.
The Community Protection Facilitator Supervisor (CPFs) will coordinate with relevant actors to address the needs of CBOs groups (e.g., with CiC representatives for Rohingya communities and Union Parishad representatives for host communities) and seek necessary support in collaboration with the Protection/MEAL/Advocacy Officer.
To strengthen coordination between WASH and Protection, the Supervisor will support CBOs groups in linking protection issues with WASH concerns. They will also encourage CPG members to participate in WASH Management Committees and user groups in both camp and host communities to address safety and protection concerns around WASH facilities.
The Community Protection Facilitator Supervisor will provide communities with information on existing referral services and, in coordination with the Protection/MEAL/Advocacy Officer, facilitate access to necessary support through NGO referral systems, FCRM, and relevant Union Parishad departments.
The Community Protection Facilitator Supervisor will also conduct regular household visits and, according to daily and monthly work plans, carry out one-to-one sessions and awareness-raising activities within their assigned forum groups.
The Community Protection Facilitator Supervisor will work for Data collection, compilation and integration by using digital tools/equipment as the project requirement.
The Community Protection Facilitator Supervisor Will Participate in ToT training and refreshers and will cascade among the CBOs.
CSO mobilizers will hold regular discussions with Majhi’s, Emam and officials, and other key stakeholders, She/he will act for promoting the participation of women, youth, and marginalized groups
Overall, she/he will be responsible for the effective implementation of the project activities in the field on regular basis.
Age 22 to 35 years HSC/Bachelor’s degree/Degree pass in social work, Social Science, Development Studies, or a related discipline from recognized educational institutions Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in humanitarian or development programs, preferably in Cox’s Bazar or similar emergency response contexts.Prior experience in protection, DRR, gender-based programming, or community engagement will be a strong advantage.
