Job Description

Context:
This role will ensure accessible and quality primary healthcare services in the field by providing basic treatment, emergency support, functioning health camps including health screening and referrals, while maintaining accurate records, promoting community health awareness, and upholding hygiene, safety and ethical medical standards.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary healthcare services, administer first aid, and deliver critical emergency medical support directly in the field when required.

  • Conduct regular health screenings, perform patient triage based on urgency, identify critical cases, and facilitate timely referrals to higher-level healthcare facilities.

  • Functionally manage health camps and facilitate community awareness sessions to educate slum populations on key health topics and reduce gaps in community health knowledge.

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and highly confidential patient files and medical service delivery records.

  • Adhere strictly to proper hygiene, infection prevention, and ethical medical standards under dynamic and resource-constrained field environments.

  • Strategically manage patient flows during high-caseload hours and oversee the efficient use of limited medical equipment, supplies, and essential medicines.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation.

  • Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

  • Behave in a manner consistent with BRAC’s brand, values, and protocols.

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourage others to do so.

Job Requirements

At least one year of experience in donor-funded or development projects as a health assistant or paramedic is preferred.This position is open for Bangladeshi nationals only
