Sales Engineer / Sr. Sales Engineer

Position Summary

Power Distribution Engineering Ltd. is seeking some experienced Sales Engineer/Sr. Sales Engineer to develop and manage sales opportunities to the customers for electrical power and energy solutions, with a primary focus on Substation, Busbar Trunking System (BBT), BESS and Generator projects. The role requires strong technical knowledge, customer relationship management, project coordination, quotation preparation, and sales follow-up with customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and follow up on new sales opportunities for Substation, Busbar Trunking System (BBT), and Generator projects.

• Visit project sites, factories, commercial & Residential buildings, contractors, consultants, and clients to understand technical and commercial requirements.

• Prepare technical quotations, BOQ, commercial offers, and proposals based on project specifications and customer requirements.

• Review electrical drawings, specifications, load requirements, and project documents to prepare suitable technical solutions as per requirement of customers.

• Coordinate with engineering, estimation, procurement, and project execution teams to ensure accurate offers and smooth order handover.

• Follow up with clients, consultants, contractors, and decision-makers regarding quotations, technical approvals, negotiations, and purchase orders.

• Provide technical clarification and product presentations for Substation equipment, BBT systems, and Generator solutions.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while continuously generating new business leads.

• Monitor competitor activities, market prices, customer requirements, and emerging opportunities in the electrical power sector.

• Prepare regular sales reports, pipeline updates, customer visit reports, and project status reports for management.

• Support contract negotiation, order confirmation, and commercial coordination while maintaining company policies and sales targets.

• Coordinate with the project team during installation, testing, commissioning, and handover when required.

• Technical & Product Responsibilities

• Substation: Transformer, VCB/LBS, ACB, MCCB, LT/HT Panel, PFI Panel, DB, protection, control, and related electrical equipment.

• BBT: Busbar sizing, Busbar Trunking System, feeder/flange units, tap-off units, technical specifications, BOQ, and installation coordination.

• Generator: Generator capacity selection, DG set, AMF/ATS panel, synchronization, changeover systems, technical offers, and project coordination.

• Understand applicable electrical standards, project specifications, and basic load calculation requirements for preparing technically sound offers.

3–5 years of relevant experience in electrical sales, power distribution, Substation, BBT, Generator, or related projects.Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and customer relationship management skills.Ability to read electrical SLDs, specifications, BOQ, and basic technical drawings.Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Knoledge of Autocad is Advance.Ability to work independently, meet sales targets, travel for customer/project visits, and work effectively with technical teams.Core CompetenciesTechnical Sales & Business DevelopmentCustomer Relationship ManagementQuotation & BOQ PreparationProject & Site CoordinationNegotiation & Follow-upMarket & Competitor AnalysisSales Target Achievement
