Job Description

Job Purpose

To ensure continuous, effective, and professional monitoring of the hospital’s CCTV and video surveillance systems to safeguard patients, visitors, employees, doctors, hospital assets, medications, equipment, and facilities.

The position will proactively identify security risks, suspicious activities, safety violations, and operational irregularities and promptly report incidents to the appropriate authority.

  • Install, configure, and commission CCTV cameras, DVR/NVR systems, monitors, storage devices, and other surveillance equipment across hospital premises.
  • Conduct site assessments and determine appropriate camera locations, coverage areas, mounting positions, and viewing angles to ensure effective surveillance.
  • Configure and connect IP cameras, NVR/DVR systems, switches, network devices, and related surveillance equipment to ensure stable and uninterrupted CCTV connectivity.
  • Troubleshoot network, connectivity, recording, and communication issues and coordinate with the IT/Engineering team for resolution where required.
  • Monitor CCTV cameras and surveillance screens continuously in critical areas including entrances/exits, OPD, emergency, reception, billing, pharmacy, corridors, parking areas, lifts, restricted zones, and other designated locations.
  • Maintain continuous surveillance coverage in accordance with hospital security protocols and shift requirements.
  • Identify and promptly report suspicious activities, unauthorized access, theft, crowding, altercations, safety hazards, and other unusual incidents.
  • Monitor high-risk and sensitive areas with particular attention to patient, visitor, staff, and asset security.
  • Ensure CCTV cameras are properly positioned, operational, and providing clear footage.
  • Monitor camera blind spots and coordinate with Security/Engineering/IT teams for necessary corrective action.
  • Review live and recorded footage whenever required for security investigations, incident verification, or management instructions.
  • Immediately inform the Security Supervisor/Manager or relevant authority regarding any suspicious or emergency situation observed through CCTV.
  • Maintain an accurate CCTV Incident Log/Observation Register covering significant observations and incidents.
  • Prepare incident reports based on CCTV observations and provide relevant footage or screenshots when authorized.
  • Support investigations relating to theft, missing items, patient/visitor incidents, staff misconduct, property damage, unauthorized access, and other security-related matters.
  • Assist management in reviewing incidents and identifying security gaps or recurring issues.
  • Maintain proper recording and retention of CCTV footage in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Retrieve and preserve relevant footage upon authorized request.
  • Ensure CCTV recordings are not deleted, altered, copied, transferred, or disclosed without proper authorization.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all surveillance footage and information.
  • Maintain a proper record of authorized requests for footage retrieval, viewing, copying, or sharing.
  • Ensure backup procedures are followed for critical footage where applicable.

Job Requirements

Experience:Minimum 1–4 years of relevant experience in CCTV monitoring, security operations, surveillance, or control-room operations.Experience in a corporate hospital, healthcare facility, hotel, shopping mall, financial institution, industrial organization, or other large organization will be preferred.Experience in supervising CCTV Operators/Security personnel will be an added advantage for the In-Charge role.
