Job Description

Job Title: Consultant – Ophthalmology (Eye Specialist & Surgeon)

Job Context

We are looking for a highly skilled, dedicated, and compassionate Ophthalmology Consultant to join our state-of-the-art eye hospital. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing top-tier clinical consultations in the Outpatient Department (OPD) and independently performing advanced surgical procedures to deliver outstanding eye care services to our patients.

Job Responsibilities

· Conduct comprehensive eye examinations in the Outpatient Department (OPD) to accurately diagnose and manage various ocular diseases.

· Perform modern ophthalmic surgeries independently, with a primary focus on Phacoemulsification (Cataract surgery), Glaucoma management, and other minor/major ocular procedures.

· Provide immediate and effective treatment for acute eye injuries, trauma, infections, and sudden vision complications.

· Explain diagnoses, treatment options, surgical risks, and post-operative care steps clearly and empathetically to patients and their families.

· Guide and work collaboratively with optometrists, ophthalmic technicians, and nursing staff to ensure a seamless patient care workflow.

Employment Status:

Full-time / Part-time

Educational Requirements

· MBBS from a recognized medical college.

· Postgraduate degree: FCPS, MS, DO, or an equivalent recognized qualification in Ophthalmology.

Experience Requirements

· Fresh post-graduates with exceptional surgical hands-on experience are also encouraged to apply.

Additional Requirements

· Age (Flexible for highly experienced candidates).

· Must have a valid and updated registration from the BMDC (Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council).

· Proven competence and high confidence in performing independent Phaco surgeries is highly preferred.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to deal with patients gently.
