Quality Assurance & Inspection
- Conduct visual and physical inspections of incoming raw materials, in-progress assemblies, and finished products to prevent defects.
- Verify that welding processes, joint fit-ups, and dimensional alignments conform to industry codes (e.g., ASME, AWS) and drawing tolerances.
- Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), track root-cause analyses, and oversee necessary rework.
Team Supervision & Production
- Assign daily tasks, schedule fabrication sequences, and manage workforce allocations to meet tight project timelines.
- Train welders and fitters, monitor their daily performance, and assist in welder qualification testing.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to welding (e.g., distortion, pre-heat/post-heat), cutting, and material forming.
Safety & Documentation
- Enforce strict safety protocols, including hot-work permits, lifting/rigging operations, and proper use of PPE.
- Maintain highly accurate quality records, weld logs, and inspection reports.
- Coordinate with third-party inspectors, project managers, and clients to verify verifiable quality and progress.
