BITA has been implementing Continuation of the Child Friendly Space (CFS) project at Ukhiya upazila and Rohingya refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar district supported by Plan International Bangladesh, funded by the PLAN International German. The expected outcome of the project is to improve protection of girls and boys in vulnerable situations through access to life saving, quality, gender-sensitivity, & inclusive child protection interventions. The project working locations cover Host community of Ukhiya upazila and Rohingya camps (camps 1W, 17 & 20 ex) in Cox’s Bazar District.

Job Summary
This position is primarily responsible for implementation of child protection case management activities as part of the Child Protection in Emergencies, in particular for unaccompanied and separated children (UASC) and other vulnerable and at-risk children. The CM Officer is responsible for ensuring the identification, registration, assessment, referral, direct service provision of follow up for vulnerable and at-risk children, in line with their needs. She will also be responsible for providing alternative care support in line with internal standards and guidelines. She is responsible for documenting information, implementing case management tools and forms, supporting the child/family through the case management process, ensuring data protection in line with internal protocols, and for providing daily updates to the supervisor and preparing regular reports. She is ‘responsible’ and ‘accountable’ for the Child Protection based social case work both at Host & Rohingya community of the Child Protection project being implemented by BITA in collaboration with Plan International Bangladesh at Ukhiya in Cox’s Bazar funded by PLAN International German.
Job Responsibilities:
Direct Case Management Support
Provide case management services and psychosocial support to vulnerable children, including children at risk of abuse, exploitation, neglect, violence, and child laborers, child survivors of SGBV, unaccompanied & separated children.
Ensure children receive individual case management support by conducting identification and registration, assessments, case plans, implementation of case plan, follow up and review and case closure for an assigned caseload of children, in line with Case Management SOPs.
Provide needs-based support to vulnerable and at-risk children, as required, based on the case plan and case plan objectives.
Conduct follow-up and monitoring visits based on the child’s needs.
Ensure that urgent and challenging cases are immediately discussed with direct supervisor.
Establish and maintain constructive relationships with service providers to facilitate case management referrals in project sites, under the supervision of the Case Management Officer.
Work closely with the safe space and community mobilization teams to ensure the effective identification of vulnerable and at-risk children and referral to the services
Ensure that confidentiality, informed consent, the best interests of the child, Do No Harm, and other case management principles and best practices are adhered to throughout the case management process, including the utilization of appropriate tools and case management forms.
Work with cultural sensitivity and respect the dignity of vulnerable children and families and members of the host communities at all times.
Attempt to develop relationships of trust with community members – adults and children
Community Based Child Protection
Support community-based mechanisms, including selection, training and mentoring of committee members, as required, in collaboration with the responsible Child Protection Officer.
Keep close communication with the CBCPC bodies.
Support community awareness sessions on child protection concerns, identification of vulnerable children and the process of registration of separated/unaccompanied children including family tracing and reunification.
Unaccompanied and Separated Children – FTR and Alternative Care
In case of separated and unaccompanied children, document and follow up according to the standard family tracing and reunification procedures.
Provide reintegration support and follow up to reunified cases.
Monitor and support temporary care arrangements and arrange foster care for separated/unaccompanied children in line with internal procedures and standards.
Community Engagement and Awareness
Support awareness-raising activities on child protection services, referral mechanisms, children's rights, and available support.
Work with community-based child protection structures to strengthen safe identification and referral of children at risk.
Promote community understanding of confidentiality, safe referrals, and available child protection services.
Ensure that community engagement approaches are inclusive and accessible to children and caregivers with different needs.
Administration, Documentation and Reports
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files for all child protection cases.
Participate in case conferences and case management meetings as required.
Adhere to strict confidentiality and information management standards and protocols, sharing information only in compliance with these standards
Support and participate in programme monitoring and evaluation activities as requested.
Support monitoring of the quality and effectiveness of case management services.
Identify implementation challenges, good practices, lessons learned, and areas for improvement.
Contribute to project reviews, learning events, assessments, and evaluations.
Document good practices and successful case management approaches for organizational learning.
Provide technical inputs into project proposals, concept notes, workplans, budgets, and programme strategies related to child protection case management.

Only Female At least 3 years of relevant case management experience in a humanitarian context.Good knowledge of CPIMS, Case Management Guidelines, SOPs, CPMS, UNCRC, and supervision tools.Experience in managing child survivor cases, including referral and follow-up.Skills in PFA and psychosocial support.Demonstrated child-friendly, gender-sensitive, and inclusive approachesStrong communication, coordination, reporting, and writing skills.Experience in volunteer supervision, mentoring, and capacity building.Good understanding of and commitment to safeguarding, child rights, gender, confidentiality, and the best interests of the child.Ability to work effectively under stressful, high-risk, and challenging humanitarian conditions, demonstrating flexibility and resilience.Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with partners, stakeholders, and diverse communities.Fluency in the local language and good English report-writing skills.Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the supervisor.Language Requirements: Fluency in written English, Bangla and spoken English.
