Job Description

  • Establish, implement, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) for the soap production facility, ensuring compliance with BSTI requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), project Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Q1 humanitarian quality standards.

  • Implement and monitor quality assurance procedures, ensuring full compliance with BSTI regulations and project-specific quality requirements.

  • Develop, maintain and regularly update detailed quality control documentation, including test reports, audit findings, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) 

  • Collaborate with the production team and entrepreneur to resolve quality deviations, investigate product complaints, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

  • Conduct regular quality audits of production processes and raw materials to identify areas for improvement.

  • Supervise and train the production workforce on quality standards, inspection techniques, and safe workplace practices.

  • Assist in preparing and submitting samples for BSTI certification and facilitate regulatory inspections.

  • Maintain up-to-date records of all quality control activities and provide regular reports to the entrepreneur and the Trustee Board.

  • Support the entrepreneur in establishing and strengthening market linkages with humanitarian partners, including WASH sector stakeholders, LSDS, and other relevant actors to promote locally produced soap as a sustainable and cost-effective hygiene commodity.

  • Assist in market research and analysis to identify potential commercial buyers, local retailers, and institutional customers for the enterprise's soap products.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials that highlight the quality certification (BSTI), Q1 compliance, and social impact of the enterprise.

  • Support the entrepreneur in preparing product samples, test reports, and quality certificates required by potential buyers and partner organizations.

Job Requirements

Age At most 45 years Working experience in quality control and assurance of the soap, cosmetics, or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) manufacturing industry.Experience with BSTI certification processes and humanitarian quality standards is highly preferred.In-depth knowledge of soap chemistry, formulation, and quality control testing methods (e.g., TFM, pH, moisture content).Strong understanding of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) certification requirements and compliance procedures.Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for data analysis, reporting, and documentation.Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) protocols.Ability to work independently and within a team, with a strong attitude towards quality and safety.Willingness to work flexible hours, if required.Proven working experience in quality control and assurance within the soap, cosmetics, or FMCG manufacturing industry, preferably in renowned soap production companies such as Square Toiletries Ltd.Unilever Bangladesh Ltd. (Wheel, Lux, Lifebuoy), Kohinoor Chemical Co. Ltd. (Tibet, Keya), or Aromatic Soap Industries Ltd.
