Job Summary: The Upazila Coordinator will play a critical role in coordinating and overseeing the "Gender Uplifting for Inclusive Development and Community Empowerment" project at the Upazila (sub-district) level. The role involves managing and supporting field operations, ensuring smooth project implementation, and working closely with local stakeholders, civil society organizations (CSOs), and community members to promote gender equality and inclusive development. The Upazila Coordinator will act as the key liaison between the project and the community, ensuring that activities are carried out in line with project objectives and local needs.
Project Title: Gender Uplifting for Inclusive Development and Community Empowerment (GUIDANCE)
Job Location: Naria, Shariatpur with frequent field visits to other project upazilas and grassroots project locations.
Time Period: 13 Months (up to August 2027)

Additonal Information: Naria Unnayan Samity (NUSA), MRA certified (00046-00327-00422), as an associate organization of PKSF, has been implementing credit activities and other social development-related works with good reputation in Shariatpur, Madaripur, Chandpur, Faridpur, Barisal and Munshiganj districts for a long time. NUSA is a woman led organization to give poor and marginalized people the opportunity to be the masters of their own fate. In 1979, with this objective, NUSA started its journey with relief and rehabilitation activities in disaster-prone areas of Shariatpur. Over time NUSA has become a positive force in social issues such as women empowerment, civic engagement, arbitration and legal aid training, education, health, including micro-credit program. NUSA has promoted gender equality since its inception and worked for women's rights and combating domestic violence for several years. Worked for capacity building, advocacy and networking through multiple grants funded projects over a long period of time.
Age At most 45 years Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project coordination, community development, or gender-focused initiatives, preferably in a rural setting.Proven experience working with civil society organizations, local government institutions, and community leaders.Strong understanding of gender issues, social inclusion, and community mobilization strategies.Familiarity with local governance structures and the socio-economic context of the upazila.Key Competencies:Leadership and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to manage and motivate staff.Cultural sensitivity and commitment to gender equality and social inclusion.Problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.Strong commitment to community development and empowerment.Working Conditions:Frequent travel within the upazila to monitor project activities and engage with community stakeholders.Occasional travel to district and regional offices for meetings and reporting.
