Job Context

  • The Knitting Chart Maker holds the accountability for translating design concepts into knitwear patterns for high-quality sweaters as well as creating detailed charts and specifications for the production of sweaters. The incumbent will collaborate closely with designers, technicians, and merchandising teams to ensure the seamless execution of sweater designs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Interpret design concepts and create accurate and efficient knitwear patterns for sweaters.

  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software and programming tools to develop and modify knitting machine programs.

  • Program and set up knitting machines to produce various styles and sizes of sweaters.

  • Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot any programming or production issues to ensure smooth operations.

  • Collaborate with technicians and production teams to ensure the seamless integration of programming into the manufacturing process.

  • Translate design concepts into detailed charts and specifications for sweater production, considering factors such as stitch patterns, color changes, and sizing requirements.

  • Conduct thorough quality checks on knitwear samples and finished products to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards.

  • Identify and address any issues related to pattern accuracy, tension, and overall garment quality.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of knitwear patterns, machine settings, and programming details for future reference and replication.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and new materials to contribute to the continuous improvement of knitting processes and product quality.

Job Requirements

At least 8 years relevant work experience as a Knitting Chart Maker or similar role in the apparel industry.Proficient in CAD software and programming tools for Knitwear design and development.Strong understanding of knitting machine operations, knitting processes, techniques, and troubleshooting.Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact and build relationships and work as a team.Should be well-groomed, smart, and energetic.Strong presentation and delivery skills.Strong attention to detail and accuracy, aiming for perfection.Excellent written and verbal communication in English.Proficient with MS Office package (Especially PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook)Should be proactive and dynamic, ability to work hard efficiently.Ability to multitask and remain organized, meet deadlines.
