The Bangladesh Sustainable and Renewable Energy Association (BSREA) is a leading national industry platform working to promote sustainable and renewable energy development in Bangladesh through policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, institutional strengthening, research, and market facilitation.
BSREA is currently implementing a donor-funded program focused on strengthening the renewable energy ecosystem in Bangladesh. To support effective financial management and donor compliance, BSREA invites applications from qualified and motivated professionals for the position of Accounts Officer.
Position Objective
The Accounts Officer will support effective financial management, internal control, donor compliance, and audit readiness by maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring transparent financial operations of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain all books of accounts, including general ledger, cash book, bank records, and supporting financial documentation
Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions
Process payments and verify bills, vouchers, and supporting documents in compliance with organizational financial and procurement policies
Monitor budget utilization against approved budgets and support financial planning and forecasting
Prepare periodic financial reports in donor-prescribed formats and maintain accounting records using Tally software.
Conduct bank reconciliations and maintain consistency between financial and narrative reporting
Maintain comprehensive and organized documentation for all financial transactions to ensure audit readiness
Support internal and external audit processes by providing required financial documents and records
Contribute to strengthening internal control systems, segregation of duties, and financial risk mitigation measures
Ensure compliance with applicable VAT, Tax, TDS, and organizational financial procedures

Monthly financial statements and reconciliations
Timely donor financial reports
Accurate budget tracking and variance analysis
Fully structured, traceable, and audit-ready financial documentation
Compliance with donor and organizational financial requirements
Employment Type: Full-time (Contractual)
Reporting To: Secretary, BSREA
Contract Duration
Initial contract period: 3 years
Renewable based on performance evaluation, organizational requirements, and continuation of funding.
Additional Conditions
A six-month probation period will apply
The role may require travel within Bangladesh as necessary

2-4 years of relevant professional experience in accounting or financial managementStrong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting proceduresProficiency in MS Excel and Tally accounting softwareExperience in using Tally ERP/Tally Prime accounting software is preferredHigh attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skillsExperience with donor-funded projects will be considered an advantageKnowledge of VAT, Tax, TDS, and NGO financial compliance frameworks will be preferredStrong communication and coordination skills
