Purpose of the Position:
The Deputy Director (Procurement) supports the Director Internal Affairs in planning, coordinating, and overseeing the University's procurement functions to ensure the efficient, transparent, and compliant acquisition of goods, services, and works. The incumbent plays a critical role in the day-to-day management of procurement operations, ensuring adherence to institutional policies, financial regulations, and audit requirements. Deputy Director contributes to the formulation and implementation of procurement strategies, promotes best practices in sourcing and vendor management, and ensures value for money in all procurement activities. The role also requires close coordination with academic and administrative units to provide timely and effective procurement support aligned with the University's operational and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Age At most 50 years Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in procurement and supply chain management in a university, public sector organization, or reputable corporate entity.Strong knowledge of procurement policies (public or private), tendering processes, and contract managementExperience with ERP or e-procurement systems is highly desirableProven ability to manage procurement functions while ensuring compliance with audit and regulatory requirementsDemonstrated leadership capability, professionalism, accountability and meeting deadline of work.
