IRC Midwife

Job Description / Responsibility

• The Midwife will work within the Women's Friendly Space (WFS). They will be the direct focal point for woman and girls accessing sexual and reproductive health services at the Women's Friendly Space (WFS), promoting safe, confidential access to SRH services. They will report to a Reproductive Health Manager.
• Major Responsibilities
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop IRC programs.
• The Midwife is responsible for the oversight and implementation of Sexual and Reproductive Health Services, in particular she must be confident to independently deliver:
• Counselling and provision of Family Planning
• Clinical Care for Sexual Assault Survivors
• Syndromic treatment of STIs
• Menstrual regulation
• Provision of basic first aid for intimate partner violence.
• Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control measures.
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of patient information and consultations in relevant patient registers and facilitate the timely submission of required health reports.
• Ensure regular inventory and consumption tracking of medical drugs and supplies.
• Ensure patient confidentiality is respected, and that all consultations are conducted in a dignified and respectful manner.
• Work closely with protection staff within the Women's Safe Space
• Work with and support community volunteers to provide health promotion, community mobilization and awareness raising.
• Provision of sexual and reproductive health education and promotion sessions to women and girls attending the women friendly space.
• Work with relevant staff to ensure prompt requesting of medical drugs and supplies.
